A comprehensive artist

Juan José Espiñeira encompasses more that the traditional definition of ‘architect’, and therefore, he is better described as a comprehensive artist, a quintessential creative professional.

Born in Mexico City in 1959, Espiñeira demonstrated a keen interest in art since the early days of his youth. Painting and Sculpture have both been creative outlets; however, he found his true passion and love in the art and science of Architecture. After completing his studies in Spain, Espiñeira went on to further his studies in Architecture at the La Salle University, Mexico and eventually at the Tucson Arizona State University, in the United States of America .

At the inception of his professional career, Espiñeira headed up the design department of the Rebaque y Belmont Arquitectos, an architectural firm. Afterwards, he worked independently in residential and commercial projects for list of known clients in Mexico.

With a distinguished career and prestige as an architect, in 1991 he decides to partner with Martha Imuro and form successful Espiñeira office, Imuro + Architects, to continue independently as Espiñeira + Architects.
